RON HASLEY - BIOGRAPHY
Ron Hasley was born and raised in Los Angeles, California where he studied classical piano from the University of Southern California (preparatory division) and continued at the School of Music. Ron has received four nominations, and is the recipient of two NAACP Image Awards for“Best Musical Director” for the productions of "The Gospel Truth"and “Ephraims Song." Ron has served as Musical Director for such hit Broadway musicals as, "Your Arms Too Short To Box With God" with Jennifer Holliday and Stephanie Mills; "Raisin" starring Peabo Bryson, Lynette Hawkins & Jeffrey Osborne; the National tour of "The Wiz" with Grace Jones, Howard Hewitt, Cee Cee Pennistion and Tony Terry; Little Shop of Horrors, and excerpts of Les Miserable, Dreamgirls, and A Chorus Line. He also served as M.D. for The Motown Review Show at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel with The Former Ladies of The Supremes, The Originals, The Contours, Kim Weston and Martha Reeves and The Vandellas. Ron has worked with acclaimed recording artists, Shanice, Gladys Knight, Phillip Bailey, Tramaine Hawkins, Solomon Burke, Linda Hopkins, J.T. Taylor, The Whispers, Lynn Whitfield, Freda Payne and David Rousieve’s award winning dance piece, Reality. His television appearances include Regis and Kathy Lee, the Jay Leno Show, Friday Night Videos, and NBC’s, A Night of Christmas. As a vocal arranger, he has worked internationally for Spanish superstar Juan Gabriel and England’s’ own, Dave Clark of the Dave Clark Five. Before the horrific tsunami, he was consultant and music coordinator for each New Year’s Eve Extravaganza at the Le Meridian Hotel in Phuket, Thailand. Some of Ron’s proudest achievements have been arranging live stage shows for The Coasters, Platters and The Marvelettes. He received rave reviews for his music and vocal arrangements for the hit music revue shows: “Solid Gold Motown” and “Conga” in Niagara Falls, Fallsview; Avalon Theatre in Canada, and Monte Carlo, Monaco; “The Spirit of Christmas” in Windsor, Canada, Niagara Falls and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, “The Spirit of Broadway” and“Rock Around The Clock” in Monte Carlo, Monaco. Ron was the arranger and music director for the 2009 version of “Fame” which received much acclaim at the Atlantic City Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He was also responsible for productions of “Hairspray”, and “Little Shop of Horrors." Currently Ron is the Music Director for former lead singer of The Temptations, "Glenn Leonard’s Temptations revue" and "The Former Ladies of the Supremes" starring former Motown SUPREMES, Scherrie Payne & Lynda Laurence with Joyce Vincent, as well as G.C. Cameron, formerly of The Spinners. Having produced and composed music and arrangements for several artists in the field of inspirational, praise and worship, as well as pop music (domestically and internationally." Ron Hasley has written two epic music revue shows that will soon be making their debuts. |
