#ThrowbackThursday - On May 12th & 13th 2011 Susaye Greene, formerly of The Supremes was a featured speaker at Greensburg High School in Greensburg, Indiana as part of their "Chautauqua" event organized by Mr. John Pratt. "Chautauqua" is an adult education and social movement in the United States, highly popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Chautauqua brought entertainment and culture for the whole community, with speakers, teachers, musicians, showmen, preachers, and specialists of the day. Other guests included in the 2011 Chatauqua were Stars of the Negro League Henry "Bird" Clark and Nate "BoBo" Smalls, John Stokes, The Freedom Riders and Governor Davis. Susaye spoke about her career with Ray Charles, Steve Wonder & The Supremes. She spoke of the importance of S.T.E.M. (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education, and motivated the students to follow their dreams! After her inspirational talk Susaye performed a few songs including "Children of The Ghetto," and "Free." Closing out the evening Susaye signed autographs and posed for photos. Thank you Mr. John Pratt for producing such an excellent event and including Ms. Susaye Greene! P.S.- Notice Susaye's 8 Supremes purse on the table next to her?
