Following the official disbanding of The Supremes in June of 1977, Scherrie Payne and Susaye Greene recorded the "Partners" album on the Motown label. Scherrie and Susaye shared songwriting duties as well as receiving associate producer credit for the album. Legendary entertainer Ray Charles makes a guest appearance on the song "Love Bug." Joyce Vincent Wilson, who was originally chosen to replace Mary Wilson when Scherrie and Susaye were contracted to continue as The Supremes, is featured on background vocals. The "Partners" album was released in 1979 and the lead single was "Leaving Me Was The Best Thing You've Ever Done. In 2014 the album was reissued on CD.
