Mary Wilson. She was so many wonderful things to so many... A Supreme, a best-selling author, a humanitarian and civil-rights activist, a mother, grandmother, a sister, a cousin, -- a friend! Mary did it all and did it all so well! Her legacy will forever live on in the hearts and minds of fans all over the world. From that young girl in Detroit, she went on to become part of a group that took the music industry and then, the nations by storm. They became Superstars, Legends of Motown that helped put the name of Detroit on the map!! They were a first-class act! The Supremes became role-models for so many Black girls and made them realize they could achieve the heights; anything was possible regardless of one's race. The stage was Mary's home; she lit it up! She was a natural and showed it. Audiences loved her vivaciousness, slick dances moves accompanied by her sexy voice and bright smile. Whether she was just singing "oohs" and "aahs" in the background, or, delivering a tender solo, she was powerful... The Supremes was her life and it was obvious that she enjoyed every moment of it. Mary was relentless and hard-working and never slowed down or gave up on her goals, her dreams... Mary never saw the world through blinded-eyes. She was an optimist, always striving for that next plateau, and, achieved it... I so admired her for that! Mary was the consummate performer, entertainer. Mary has left an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone who ever met or knew her. I, for one, shall forever be indebted to her... I'm so proud of all she accomplished. An original member of the most famous girl-group in the world! An icon never to be forgotten! Mary Wilson! A legend in her own time!... Heaven has welcomed in another Supreme angel! My deepest condolences go out to her family... May God watch over you during this time of tremendous pain and sorrow and comfort you... Blessings, Scherrie Payne of The Supremes

Beautifully said Ms. Payne. I was blessed to meet her and talk with her a few years ago. I'm 58 years old and for a large portion my life, I knew of, listened to and adored all of the Supremes. The night when I met her, I got a chance to love and adore Miss Wilson. She was so kind, welcoming and just plain sweet. When I took a picture with her, I bent down because she's shorter than me. She said "uh uh honey, stand up! I like my men tall!" Rest in heaven Miss Wilson knowing your work here was not in vain.

I am so , can't find the one word, but inspired, sad, grateful to have witnessed these two Ladies professionally, over the years. The respect and honor Scherrie has consistently displayed for not only Mary but ALL of her Supreme Sisters over the years is on display here. So much love came from the heart, I know Mary read her words and felt that true respect and love.

Scherrie - It's so sad and shocking that Mary passed. My first concert ever was the Supremes in 1974 at Magic Mountain with You, Mary and Cindy. Flo was there too as you remember. I've seen Mary several times solo and also you at Sunset Junction in LA. I also met you at the 70's Supremes CD event in LA. I love all you Supreme ladies!

Mary....Was the Supreme from beginning to End. She embrace and lived the Word until the End....With Her And Florence there would never have been The Supremes...We loved her from the get go...Trooper, Style, Class All naturally put together to make History for three young black girls from Detroit who changed the course of music in the 50's, 60's and 70's in America and opened up the door for all Black Entertainers and also Bridged the gap of racisms in America...She was part of 3 girls that showed the world that the American Dream wasn't just a word, but a Reality....Despite the problems within the interior of the group, she continued to keep the Supreme alive until it disbanded in 1977...She lived up to the name until God took her home. Befitting that She would leave Us in her sleep...A Very Supreme ending for a woman who lived her life that way....Fly High Mary You Earned Your Wings To Heaven...Until we meet again...Say Hello to Florence, Barbara and Betty for all of Us....A SUPREME ENDING FOR A SUPREME WOMAN....ALOHA.
