PHOTOGRAHER - RANDI CHILDS:
Say hello to Scherrie Payne!! This beautiful (from the inside out) and incredibly talented woman is so much fun to work with and to spend time with!! Scherrie’s accomplishments and accolades are off the charts…literally and figuratively. In 1973, Scherrie Payne became the final lead singer of Motown’s legendary recording group “The Supremes.” She became known affectionately by fans as “The little lady with the big voice” & “The Payne killer”. After working with Scherrie over the past few years and having had the opportunity to watch her perform on stage, I can see why she became a fan favorite!! Scherrie doesn’t just sing when she is performing, she allows her vibrant and effervescent personality to shine through. When Scherrie is not recording and performing all over the world with her group, she is an avid writer and has written over 20 screenplays and 3 stage plays. In September 2012 her stage play “It Always Rains On Sunday” had a 3-day sold out run in Los Angeles, CA. Scherrie represents everything that my 40/40 project is about, demonstrating on a daily basis that age is just a number and that when we as women begin to believe in ourselves and ignore what society has told us about female aging, there is no stopping us!! Thank you for participating in my 40/40 (40 women over 40) Project, Scherrie!! - Randi Childs #motownlegend #motown #ScherriePayne formerly of #TheSupremes #Supremes #FormerLadiesOfTheSupremes #FLOS #Supreme
