I didn't know that till recently, but for a song to travel through time this way, recorded by artist after artist, is a rarity of fate and a strong testament to the might of a great lyric and a mesmerizing melody. After all is said and done, a great song is a great song, regardless of what is going on in the world, and regardless of changes in music and in the industry. I have received countless renditions from famous and obscure musicians and singers of every genre and enjoyed thoroughly their individual takes on this song. I am so grateful it touches hearts, because that is what music should do. I love that you all have loved it. It is totally satisfying, as a songwriter. Thank you for the joy, and yes, the shoes". ;oD
