Tuesday, May 20th 2025 - Scherrie Payne and Lynda Laurene formerly of THE SUPREMES with Joyce Vincent were special guest performers at the La Voix Studio's* talent showcase. The evening was a tribute to Quincy Jones and the students performed songs spanning Quincy Jones' prolific career. The evening was co-hosted by Freda Payne. Staying with the theme of the evening Scherrie, Lynda and Joyce performed 2 songs produced by Quincy Jones "Give Me Night," originally recorded by George Benson and "How Do You Keep The Music Playing," which was recorded by Patti Austin and James Ingram. In the early 1990's Scherrie and Lynda, alongside Sundray Tucker recorded these 2 songs on their Rick Gianatos produced album "Supreme Voices." * La Voix Studio, "the Voice Studio", is a place where singers go to develop and improve their voices. Students learn how to use their voice by rehabilitating vocal issues, discover great techniques, eliminate vocal breaks, strengthen their voice, expand their range, gain power, balance, and control in their voice. La Voix studio is owned and operated by Scherrie's daughter Shoshana Payne Phillips. Scherrie, Lynda and Joyce are proud supporters of La Voix Studio.
