Hello Everyone, It is with sadness that I write this note as another one of Motown’s Giants, Mr. Duke Fakir of The Four Tops, passed away today. When I look back and think of Duke, what I remember most is that he was always smiling. Duke had one the most outstanding tenor voices in R&B and pop music. During a conversation I had with Duke, I appreciated that he gave props to Mr. Beachy Thompson, another tenor singer who sang with The Dixie Hummingbirds. Duke said, “He hoped that he was as good as Beachy Thompson." Duke was a humble man and a gentleman who kept a smile on his face and that's how I will fondly remember him.
