"She was my old "roomy"… Rosalind Ashford of Martha and The Vandellas. I lived with her when I first moved to Detroit. We had such a good time. At one point I had hoped to be a Vandella, but things went a different way for me. Rosalind was the very high soprano voice on songs like “Heat Wave," "Dancing in The Street" and all of their major hits! Her voice was so distinctive that it defined the back up of The Vandellas". - Lynda Laurence

I have always loved Rosalind's soprano voice. Linda is correct about hearing Rosalind on songs. I particularly hear her on Jimmy Mack ("Jimmy Mack when are you coming back") In my Lonely room and Come and Get These Memories ("Come and get them since you've gone out of my life") More (theme from Monde Cane) from Heat Wave album and Can't Get Used to Losing you from the Come and get these memories album. I’m so proud of the legacies that both of you lovely, talented ladies are leaving. You two will always be around in one way or another.
Lynda, just wanted to let you know that I have been listening to the Dixie Hummingbirds again. They are still just as uplifting as always. So your dad’s music is also a legacy. You both will live on through your music. “I’ll Always Love 💕 You”.
