On Saturday, May 2nd 2026 Scherrie Payne & Freda Payne were jointly interviewed by Fred Bronson as part of his "Fred Bronson Talks" series........

Sisters, Freda Payne & Scherrie Payne brought decades of iconic music history to the stage for this special edition of "Fred Talks."  Freda Payne rose to international fame with her 1970 smash hit “Band of Gold,” while her sister Scherrie Payne carried the legacy of The Supremes as a lead vocalist during the group’s final era.

From their early days in Detroit,  to their celebrated careers in soul, pop, and R&B, the Payne sisters have left an enduring mark on American music — and they shared their stories, memories, and music in an intimate, unforgettable conversation. 

The interview took place in a relaxed brunch setting, of "The Velvet Martini Lounge" at Vitello's in Studio City, CA.  The afternoon felt like equal parts, storytelling session, and an exclusive backstage pass.  The conversation was insightful, entertaining and personal.  Following the interview the guests had the opportunity to participate in a live audience Q&A.  A wonderful afternoon was had by all in attendance and those online watching the live stream.
