On Friday's we reflect on the 33 year career of The Former Ladies of The Supremes. We call it #flosfriday. Today we are going back to February of 1997 with Scherrie Payne, Lynda Laurence and Freddi Poole. The Ladies headlined at the Coal Coast Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada; February 12th-23rd 1997. We hope you enjoy photos from our personal archives, some of which have never been published before. ENJOY and "Keep The Music Playing!" Text: David Kramlick Photos: Eric Iversen Eric and I had just met Jean Terrell, Scherrie Payne & Lynda Laurence at their 1996 Reunion Show in Los Angeles. In fact, that same show was only the second time Eric and I had met! I had written an article about the Reunion Show for the FLOS Newsletter and everyone was impressed with my work. Eric and I were asked if we were attending the upcoming shows at the Gold Coast. We said of course. Remember, we were not working as the Supreme Team at that time. The first thing we noticed when we walked into the hotel to check in was a huge FLOS poster. Uh-oh, that poster has Sundray Tucker on it not Freddi Poole. We right away went to work getting that rectified. With great anticipation, we took our front row seats for the show. It was a nice venue and the Ladies looked and sounded just beautiful. We were in awe! The greatest girl group of all time right in front of us. It was as if they were singing just to us. Neither Eric nor I had seen the FLOS with Sundray and this was our first time with Freddi. Eric had met Freddi, I had not. When the show was over, the Ladies exited the stage and Eric and I waited for them. When they came back out in their street clothes, Freddi exited the stage first, came up to us and gave us a big hug, followed by Scherrie and then Lynda. We weren’t sure they would even remember us, but they did. I believe it was Lynda who called us by name. "David and Eric! It’s so good to see you again!" In her enthusiastic voice! We were thrilled and shocked that they had remembered us. We carried their gowns back to their hotel room every night, dined with them, shared many laughs and just really got to know each other well. It was shortly thereafter when we returned home that we were asked us to run the fan club. The rest…..is history.
