Did you watch The Motown 60 television special on April 21st 2019? The Motown tribute was held to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Motown Records, which was founded by Berry Gordy in January 1959. The special was hosted by Cedric the Entertainer and Smokey Robinson. During the filming members of the Motown family were asked to stand to be acknowledged. Here's a screen capture of the lovely Scherrie Payne from the telecast. Supreme Legend Diana Ross gave a special performance that evening paying homage to her Motown movie career. This included a witty yet rousing version of "My Man," sung directly to Berry Gordy. She also performed the Theme From Mahogany. It was a historic evening of music and love that saw Scherrie Payne and two of her "Supreme Sisters" (Mary Wilson & Diana Ross) honoring the legacy of Motown. Did you notice The Supremes' 1975 album in the collage back drop behind Cedric The Entertainer? This was Scherrie's debut with The Supremes alongside Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong. This album included their disco hit "He's My Man."
