"He was an angel in disguise. His mission on earth was done and now he’s gone on to Glory!!! May God rest his soul... What an amazing, talented and anointed young man! I pray that his wife and family will be comforted and know he’s at peace and resting in the arms of Jesus Christ."
- Scherrie Payne, Formerly of The Supremes

"I'm devastated to hear about the passing of "Black Panther" star Chadwick Boseman. I first saw him in his great film about Thurgood "Marshall; the first Black Supreme court Justice. He played Jackie Robinson & James Brown. A young man of such dignity! Tears on tears"
-Susaye Greene, Formerly of The Supremes

VIDEO BELOW: Scherrie Payne, Susaye Greene & Joyce Vincent Perform "I Can't Help It" at The Baltic Soul Festival in Germany May 10th 2019
"Never a single, and I never got to hear him sing it live, but "I Can't Help It" written by Stevie Wonder and me, is the most covered song in Michael Jackson's entire catalog! I didn't know that till recently, but for a song to travel through time this way, recorded by artist after artist, is a rarity of fate and a strong testament to the might of a great lyric and a mesmerizing melody. After all is said and done, a great song is a great song, regardless of what is going on in the world, and regardless of changes in music and in the industry. I have received countless renditions from famous and obscure musicians and singers of every genre and enjoyed thoroughly their individual takes on this song. I am so grateful it touches hearts, because that is what music should do. I love that you all have loved it. It is totally satisfying, as a songwriter. Thank you for the joy, and yes, the shoes". ;oD

Following the official disbanding of The Supremes in June of 1977, Scherrie Payne and Susaye Greene recorded the "Partners" album on the Motown label. Scherrie and Susaye shared songwriting duties as well as receiving associate producer credit for the album. Legendary entertainer Ray Charles makes a guest appearance on the song "Love Bug." Joyce Vincent Wilson, who was originally chosen to replace  Mary Wilson when Scherrie  and Susaye were contracted to continue as The Supremes, is featured on background vocals.

The "Partners" album was released in 1979 and the lead single was "Leaving Me Was The Best Thing You've Ever Done.  In 2014 the album was reissued on CD.  Congratulations Scherrie & Susaye on this monumental duo album which still stands on it's own today!

Today we are celebrating the foundation of the group we have today, namely the original Supremes (Diana Ross, Mary Wilson and Florence Ballard).

On December 5-18, 1966, The Supremes began recording a guest spot on the NBC TV Special entitled “Ice Capades Special 1967.”  The show was hosted by Jimmy Durante and was filmed in Rochester, New York.  It aired the following February 13, 1967.

Photos are from a private collection and the Internet.  Dates and info. are from the web-site:  http://dianarosssupremes.free.fr/index.htm.  As hosted by Laurent (of France).  Please check out the discography section from the dropdown menu for one of the most complete discographies I have ever seen.
