This past Sunday evening, we had the absolute pleasure of being thoroughly entertained by one of our fabulous sister groups — the legendary Honey Cone. They were in top form! Before the ladies even hit the stage, their incredible band took over, setting the tone for the night, and showcasing their outstanding musical talents. They truly rocked the house! Then came the moment we were all waiting for — Honey Cone made their entrance to "I’m Coming Out," and from there, it was a non-stop "Power Hour" of unforgettable hits — the very soundtrack of our lives. From a high-energy tribute to Tina Turner to a stunning performance of their recent recording “Here Comes the Rain Again,” and so much more, they kept us fully engaged from beginning to end. To top off an already incredible evening, the legendary bassist Verdine White of "Earth, Wind & Fire" (Shelly Clark's husband) graced the stage and absolutely brought the house down. And I must give a big shoutout to Vibrato's for their impeccable service and exquisite cuisine — two thumbs up! From start to finish, it was a truly unforgettable night. Bravo, Honey Cone! "Keep the music playing," LYNDA LAURENCE _____________________________________________________________ “Last night at Vibrato's supper club, I had the honor and pleasure of seeing a phenomenal group, “Honey Cone.” Shelly Clark-White, Wendy Smith-Brune' and Kathy Merrick performed for an hour and a half of a genre of songs which included their hits like , “Want Ads,” “Stick Up", and "One Monkey Don’t Stop No Show.” It was a packed house and everyone was enthralled with the music, and some even got up to dance! The band was sensational and on point. At the conclusion of the show, Shelly’s husband, Verdine White of Earth, Wind and Fire fame, got up from his table and joined the ladies onstage with his bass guitar! The audience went wild when he played The Emotions' "Best of My Love," (he played on the original recording.) The ladies sang their hearts out as he thumped away! Some audience members formed a dance line and cheered them on as the ladies closed their show with "Earth, Wind, & Fire's" mega hit "September." I was ecstatic and thrilled to have been there!!” - SCHERRIE PAYNE _____________________________________________________________ The HONEY CONE were on point Sunday night at Vibrato's in Bel Air! They were HOT! HOT! HOT! make sure you check them out when they are in a city near you! -Joyce Vincent On Friday's we celebrate the history and legacy of The Former Ladies of The Supremes, we call it #FLOSFriday.
