“I had a great time Saturday, May 24th 2025 at the Legendary “Baked Potato Jazz Club” in Studio City CA. My son Trevor Lawrence Jr. played with Grammy Award Winner John Daversa’s Big Band!

This was big band jazz at its finest, and i had a ball! Legendary Jazz musician Benny Golson’s daughter (Brielle Golson) was with me. It was a great evening!!!” - Lynda Laurence

Tuesday, May 20th 2025 - Scherrie Payne and Lynda Laurene formerly of THE SUPREMES with Joyce Vincent were special guest performers at the La Voix Studio's* talent showcase. The evening was a tribute to Quincy Jones and the students performed songs spanning Quincy Jones' prolific career. The evening was co-hosted by Freda Payne.

Staying with the theme of the evening Scherrie, Lynda and Joyce performed 2 songs produced by Quincy Jones "Give Me Night," originally recorded by George Benson and "How Do You Keep The Music Playing," which was recorded by Patti Austin and James Ingram. In the early 1990's Scherrie and Lynda, alongside Sundray Tucker recorded these 2 songs on their Rick Gianatos produced album "Supreme Voices."

* La Voix Studio, "the Voice Studio", is a place where singers go to develop and improve their voices. Students learn how to use their voice by rehabilitating vocal issues, discover great techniques, eliminate vocal breaks, strengthen their voice, expand their range, gain power, balance, and control in their voice. La Voix studio is owned and operated by Scherrie's daughter Shoshana Payne Phillips.
Scherrie, Lynda and Joyce are proud supporters of La Voix Studio.

Mickie Stevenson -
William “Mickey” Stevenson is one of the great figures in the history of Motown Records. He was the label’s first Head of A&R, and he helped discover Stevie Wonder, the Four Tops, Martha Reeves, and the Funk Brothers, who were the famous band of Motown musicians that played on most of the label’s classic ‘60s hits. He also worked closely with Marvin Gaye.
Impressively, Stevenson has been nominated by the Songwriters Hall of Fame. As a songwriter, Stevenson co-wrote a dozen Motown classic hit songs. His best known song is “Dancing in the Street,” which is one of the most joyful anthems of its era. This song was originally a hit for Martha & the Vandellas (featuring Martha Reeves), and it was later a hit for rock band Van Halen, and a duet for Mick Jagger & David Bowie -

(PART-3) CATALINA JAZZ CLUB 4-27-25
- Returning to the stage in a stunning, yellow, orange and white, couture design by the talented Linda Stokes, the ladies captivated the audience with an electrifying set of timeless Supremes' classics. The set soared with hits like "When The Lovelight Starts Shining Through His Eyes," "Back In My Arms Again," and "Someday We'll Be Together," showcasing their unmatched vocal prowess and undeniable charisma.

Paying tribute to the legendary Luther Vandross, the ladies delivered a heartfelt performance of "Stop To Love," a track also featured on their 1994 album "Supremely Yours." Following this, they wowed the audience with their unforgettable rendition of "How Do You Keep The Music Playing," which left the crowd on their feet in a standing ovation that echoed throughout the room.

To bring the evening to an unforgettable close, the ladies brought the house down with the upbeat, 1966 classic "You Can't Hurry Love," before launching into the empowering anthem "I'm Every Woman." The audience erupted once again, clapping and dancing in the aisles as the ladies were playfully ushered offstage by their incredible band: Keith Royster on Bass, Billy Meza on Keys II/Synthesizer, Andrew Schindler on Guitar, and Robert Miller on Drums. All of this, under the brilliant direction of their phenomenal Music Director, Ron Hasley on Piano.

After the show, the energy was palpable as the ladies greeted their loyal fans and friends during a "MEET & GREET" session that added the perfect finishing touch to an extraordinary night. It was a truly magical evening, leaving everyone in awe.
