Scherrie, Susaye & Joyce perform Michael Jackson's classic "I Can't Help It," from his "Off The Wall" album at The Baltic Soul Weekender. This song was written by Susaye Greene and Stevie Wonder. Let us know in the comments what other songs you'd like to hear the ladies perform. Scherrie & Susaye's "Supreme Sister" Lynda Laurence invited the Ladies to attend a special benefit concert at California State University Northridge featuring her son Trevor Lawrence Jr. (drummer) singer/entertainer Pattti Austin and special guest One80. The event raised money for T.AD.W. (Teenage Drama Workshop) who's goal is to provide a high level of performing arts education for secondary school students. Young people work together with theatre professionals, theatre educators as well as university students to create theatre of the highest quality and caliber for young audiences. The evening was titled "Be Bop To Hip Hop." and inovatively fused the two musical genres. The performance included jazz standards, hip hop classics and video presentations brilliantly composed to enlighten and engage the audience. Trivia: Did you know that some of Trevor Lawrence Jr.s earliest gigs as a teenager were playing drums for The Former Ladies of The Supremes all over the world. Scherrie Payne & Susaye Greene formerly of The Supremes with Joyce Vincent performed at La Voix's spring concert held at The Federal in North Hollywood, CA.. The evening was themed 1950's and 1960's and the students performed their favorite tunes from those eras. The finale of the evening was Freda Payne who performed "Alfie" and The Former Supremes who performed a medley of Supremes' hits including "Where Did Our Love Go," "Baby Love," and "Stop In The Name of Love." La Voix vocal studio is owned and operated by Scherrie's daughter Shoshana Payne Philips and is a place where singers come to develop and improve their voices. Students learn how to use their voice by rehabilitating vocal issues, discover great techniques, eliminate vocal breaks, strengthen their voice, expand their range, gain power, balance, and control in their voice.
