From the desk of Lynda Laurence: Hello Everyone, Just little note to say how wonderful it is that so many people remembered and shared their thoughts, photos and well wishes to me on this 50th Anniversary of my first performance with The Legendary Supremes. Although that was so long ago, I still remember Hawaii. What a great first show. Hawaii! Truly Supreme style. So thanks to all of the fans who over the years have meant so much to not only to the group, but to all of us individually. You have truly “Kept the Music Playing." To my partner and friend who I truly loved working with for the 31 years we spent together, I THANK YOU Scherrie. We proved that women can work together, get along, and have admiration and respect for each other. She loved my voice and performance, and I loved hers! I think that was the key. I would enjoy our shows together because we always did our very best! So thank you Scherrie for your winsome words below, and for being my friend. Kudos! "#FLOSFRIDAY - On Friday's we look back at the 36 year history and legacy of The Former Ladies of The Supremes, we call it #FLOSFRIDAY! Today we are looking back to May 0f 2015 when the Former Ladies of The Supremes' Scherrie Payne & Lynda Laurence, with Joyce Vincent, performed in Winterthur, Switzerland at the "Legends On Stage" Festival with Dennis Edwards' Temptations Revue. "This tour started in Brussels, Belgium. We flew from Belgium to Switzerland, the morning of the 2nd show. When we arrived in Switzerland we collected our luggage and discovered that our Costume bags had not arrived. We were assured by the airline that they would find our bags and have them to us before showtime that evening. We checked in to the hotel, had a light lunch, then had a soundcheck at the venue.....still no word from the airline! We only had 3 hours till show time so we decided that we had better figure sometime out. Eric Iversen & Steve Weaver hit the streets of Winterthur to find suitable stage wear. Unfortunately there was only 1 ladies wear shop open, and the only item they had 3 of was white flowing jackets. Using these 3 tops and items from our personal luggage we were able to coordinate a unified look, but no one was happy with it! LOL! As the say "THE SHOW MUST GO ON." The audience was enthralled with our performance, and we explained our lost gowns situation to them. The lost luggage finally arrived to the hotel at 4:00 am! We departed at 8:00 am for the next stop on the tour. Saturday, April 9th at Faithful Central Church in Inglewood, California- Scherrie Payne attended a memorial service for her friend Alexander Hamilton. When Scherrie sat down she realized she was sitting behind her dear friend, and former singing partner Freddie Pool. Freddie sang alongside Scherrie Payne and Lynda Laurence in their trio “Former Ladies of The Supremes” 1996-2009.
