#FLOSFRIDAY - On Friday's we celebrate the 40 year history and legacy of The Former Ladies of THE SUPREMES, we call of F.L.O.S. Friday.  

Today we are looking back to the summer of 2000 when The Former Ladies of THE SUPREMES' Scherrie Payne & Lynda Laurence united with Diana Ross for their "Diana Ross & The Supremes' Return To Love" tour.

In the summer of 2000 Vh1 filmed the TV special "Divas - A tribute to Diana Ross" which featured Rupaul. Destiny's Child, Faith Hill, Donna Summer and The Supremes. All of the artist performed Diana Ross/Supremes classics.  

The Finale featured all of the performers joining Diana Ross on-stage singing Diana Ross' 1970 solo hit "A'int No Mountain High Enough."  The show concluded with Diana Ross & The Supremes performing "I Will Survive."  #FLOS40 #FormerLadiesOfTheSupremes - Authentically Keeping the Legacy Alive!

​Hello Everyone - Just a quick note:
​
Whenever we walk onto the stage for a show the excitement starts to build, and in that moment we are determined to give the very best performance we can.  For me there is something extra special about looking into the audience and seeing two of our most loyal Los Angeles based fans, Kevin Norwood and Jonathan Weitz.  

They are always there — front row or first table — and what’s so amazing is that I can spot them right away… even without my glasses!  Ha!  Seeing their smiling faces instantly makes me feel relaxed, happy and truly ready to perform. When I walked onto the stage at the Catalina on May 19th 2026 and saw them sitting there enjoying the music it honestly felt like a warm hug.

They know these songs by heart,  and yet after so many performances they still listen with so much joy and love. That means more to me than words can say. I just wanted to express how much their support touches my heart. So this is for you Kevin & Jonathan — thank you for being such loyal fans and for continuing to share this musical journey with us.

​I hope you’ll always keep loving this music,  and as I always say…“Keep The Music Playing.”

#FLOSFRIDAY - On Friday's we celebrate the 40 year history and legacy of The Former Ladies of THE SUPREMES.  Today we are looking back to 1998 with Scherrie Payne, Lynda Laurence & Fredddi Poole.

This trio of FLOS performed and recorded together 1996-2009.


FUN FACT:  The Former Ladies of THE SUPREMES have been active (1986-2026) - more than twice the length of time The Supremes were originally signed to Motown records (January 1961 - June 1977.)  And,  the Former Ladies of The Supremes are still going strong!  Performing worldwide and recording new material!  #FLOS40

"That was a fun shoot! So here’s why I put them in Gold…

I was in Bangkok, Thailand and I saw some fabulous earrings (Lynda is wearing them so zoom in and take a look). I bought three pairs (obviously) and it inspired me to make them identical gold suits and corsets. Fortunately, they were over in the UK touring for about eight weeks and on the nights we were off the road, I was beavering away making the outfits.

I wanted to shoot them against a dark background to make the look ‘pop’ and it worked. But they never wore the outfits onstage because they didn’t have enough freedom for the choreography (especially arm movements) so they hung in a closet at my house for years and I eventually disposed of them when I moved. They did lots of poses in them at the shoot (I photographed them). 

Not my favourite set of uniforms I made for them but hey, it was yet another different look. When I look at these photos and think back about how much fun the four of us had on the road (and the nights off we just chilled and talked and laughed, and laughed, I realise now just how lucky I was. 

Oh, so why aren’t Scherrie & Freddi wearing their matching earrings? Because they forgot to bring them to the shoot - LOL!!!! - Steve Weaver 2026

Scherrie Payne & Lynda Laurence, Former Ladies of THE SUPREMES with Joyce Vincent - May 19th 2026. Scherrie, Lynda and Joyce were special celebrity guests as the La Voix Studio's "Legendary Groups" showcase fundraiser.

The Ladies opened with THE SUPREMES' 1967 classic "The Happening," then performed a medley of SUPREMES' hits including "Stop In The Name of Love," "Where Did Our Love Go?," and "Baby Love."

2026 marks the 40th Anniversary of The Former Ladies of The Supremes!

​FUN FACT: The Motown Supremes performed/recorded together 1961-1977 (16 years.) The FLOS have recorded/performed together over double that time! (1986-2026) These ladies are "Authentically keeping the legacy alive!"

Val Yong and The Former Ladies of The Supremes were special celebrity performers at The La Voix Studio's "Legendary Groups" showcase theme show on Tuesday, May 19th 2026.

Val Young performed "All Night Long" with La Voix students as her "Mary Jane Giles," and The Former Ladies of The Supremes performed "The Happening," Plus a Supremes' medley of - Stop In The Name of Love," Where Did Our Love Go," and "Baby Love." 

The 4 Ladies joined the students on-stage for the grand finale performance of Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk."

Today we are looking back to 1996 when the lineup consisted of former Motown Supremes Scherrie Payne & Lynda Laurence, joined by Sundray Tucker.  

In 1992 Jean Terrell departed the trio - Scherrie & Lynda recruited Lynda's sister Sundray Tucker to round out the trio.
